Med-RX Supply has entered
into a joint-venture relationship
with Diabetic Plus to co-market
their products on a direct-to-consumer
basis.
Diabetic Plus offers a nationwide
direct-to-home delivery of
Diabetic testing supplies.
Their staff of highly trained
professionals state of the
art information management
systems and commitment to
quality is what attracted
Med-RX to this company. Diabetic
plus is well-stocked with
all brands of Glucose meters,
Test strips, Lancets, Lancing
devices, Ketone strips, Syringes,
Diabetic shoes, Insulin pumps
and other related supplies.
Diabetic Plus offers a service
whereby they will bill a customer’s
Medicare, Medicaid, HMO or
PPO for these supplies, and
provide the customer with
a no-cost solution to attaining
their diabetic testing supplies
on a timely basis. They also
offer a, affordable service
to diabetics that carry no
insurance at all.
Med-RX Supply plans to become
the exclusive supplier of
their diabetic inventory and
plans to offer a wide range
of other products to the customers
of Diabetic Plus. According
to Mr. Edward Klapp, CEO,
Pharma Holdings, this joint
venture relationship will
“enable Med-RX to promote
their new Med-RX Health Savings
card, while launching Med-RX
into the diabetic supply business
overnight”. The Med-RX
Health Savings card provides
members with a discount prescription
plan, discounted physician
services, a dental discount
plan and a wide range of other
services. The Med-RX card
will be marketed for a $79.95
annual fee.
This new joint venture company
will be called E-Diabetic
Corporation, and will begin
marketing as soon as April
15, 2006. Promotion will begin
with an intensive Internet
advertising program and followed
by direct response print ads
and a TV spot. According to
Glen Brosnick, CEO, Diabetic
Plus, the national TV spot
will feature his son, Koby
Brosnick teamed with Miami
Heat basketball star, Shaquille
O’ Neal. The theme will
be the “return of Shaq
and Koby” to fight diabetes.
Spots will run nationally
on cable and broadcast in
most major markets.
These promotions are expected
to generate more than 500
new customers per day for
E-Diabetic Corporation. Based
on current market evaluations
a diabetic patient generates
$1,000 profit per year. At
that rate, this new joint
venture company projects nearly
$180 million in sales in the
first year.
Both Mr. Klapp and Mr. Brosnick
point out that they believe
in education and support in
order to extend the lives
of those with diabetes. Their
mission is to form a company
dedicated to sharing information
and to make a difference by
helping patients manage their
lives better. E-Diabetic Corporation
plans to form a non-profit
foundation to aid in the research
and education of diabetic
solutions. In order to launch
this foundation, both have
agreed to place ten percent
of E-Diabetic’s profits
into this new foundation which
has yet to be named. |
